
The Butler County Health Department provides In-Home Service as authorized by the Department of Health and Senior Services. Services include nurse visits, homemaker chore, personal care, advanced personal care, respite and advanced respite. Our service area is a five county area that includes Butler, Carter, Reynolds, Wayne, and Ripley counties. In-Home Service is provided twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. Description of Services:
Nurse visits are skilled nursing services of a maintenance or preventive nature, provided to clients with a stable-chronic condition. They are provided at the client's residence and must be pre-authorized by the Department of Health and Senior Services. Such services are not intended as treatment for an acute health condition.
Advanced Personal Care services are maintenance services provided to a client in the individual residence to assist with activities of daily living when such assistance requires devices and procedures related to altered body function.
Basic Personal Care services are maintenance services provided to a client in their home to assist with activities of daily living.
Homemaker Chore services are general household activities provided by trained homemakers when the client is unable to manage the care of the home for themselves or others in the home.
Respite Care Services are maintenance and supervisory services provided to a client in the individual residence to provide temporary relief of the usual care giver.
Advanced Respite Services consist of maintenance and supervisory care provided to clients of the Department of Health and Senior Services who have specialized needs. The service is provided in the client's home and are provided to relieve the usual caregiver.
Funding sources include Medicaid, Social Security Block Grant, Local Funds, Veterans Administration, Veteran Aid and Attendant Pension, and Private Pay. Authorized services are provided regardless of age, race religion, socio-economic status or medical diagnosis.
